Dispersing water and oil phases to a stable formulation, knowing the influences of different active ingredients on the character and the stability of the formed emulsion is without any doubt one of the core competences of cosmetologists.

Since its foundation in 1984, the Dr. Straetmans GmbH has worked intensely on emulsion technologies and has created a substancial competence in this field. Very soon, our research focused on the development of recipes based on PEG-free emulsifiers, solubilizers or surfactants. With the polyglycerol esters of edible fatty acids a competetive class of substances was identified which is based on natural raw materials and which is toxicologically safe. By choosing the polymerization grade of the glycerol the entire range of HLB-values can be covered and the emulsifying properties of the compound can be adjusted precisely.
